ExpandedProgram is adware that will display ads
The infection ExpandedProgram is categorized as adware and mostly subjects you to advertisements. Adware is highly aggravating but mostly harmless, especially compared to other malware. The adware is a parasite, and even if it will not seriously damage the device, it should be dealt with sooner rather than later. You could also be displayed potentially harmful content by adware, which includes malware and scams. In order to dodge a possible infection, you are strongly recommended to not engage with ads until you remove ExpandedProgram.
You’re likely unaware of adware distribution methods if ExpandedProgram managed to install. In what is referred to software bundling, less dangerous infections like adware, browser hijackers, and potentially unwanted applications are added as extra items to free software. Through this method, the adware is able to install without even informing you. If you carry on reading, we will explain how to prevent unnecessary items from installing in the future.
Ways adware installs
Adware is attached to freeware as an extra item, and in many cases, users are tricked into allowing its installation. Adware comes added in a way that allows it to install without users being informed. Annoyingly, the added items are also concealed, to guarantee their installation.
In order to stop them from installing, first make the offers visible. Advanced (Custom) settings are what you have to opt for when installing freeware, and not Default. Advanced will make all extra offers visible, and you’ll be able to deselect all of them. So as to prevent rubbish from flooding your computer, you have to deselect all items.

What does ExpandedProgram do
Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and other popular browsers will have this adware attached to them. The adware will be constantly redirecting you to weird pages and displaying a lot of ads, hence why adware is such a noticeable threat. It should be said that despite the fact that adware by itself is quite harmless, you need to still be cautious about the redirects and ads you are displayed because of it. You may be displayed malicious content and scams by the adverts/redirects.
Adware is also frequently accountable for you being redirected to tech-support scams. Bear in mind that if you encounter an advert that states that your system has a virus and that you can get tech-support to fix the issue by calling the number that is shown, ignore it as it would be expert con artists at the other end of the line.
It should also be said that adware does record visited pages, searched queries and ads engaged with. Don’t be startled to see more personalized ads, because that’s why adware collects the data.
