Windows Has Been Shutdown scam is a bogus alert claiming that your system has been contaminated with malware or encountered a severe issue. This is a regular tech-support scam that tries to frighten users into calling certain numbers where they would be asked to provide remote access to their machine. If an ad-supported program is indeed to blame, expect pretty invasive ads. An adware may usually be installed by accident, when you install freeware. Just to be clear, the ads are pretty harmless by themselves, and if you do not call the scammers, no harm will be done. If you did call them, you would have to deal with people who scam others for a living, and they would ask for authorization to remotely connect to your system, do some unneeded fixing, and then charge money, basically for nothing. Allowing some dubious technicians remote access to your computer might turn out badly, so be cautious. You can be calm that this contamination mentioned in the warning it's not real, and that your computer is safe. In order to make the advertisements no longer appear, all you need to do is erase Windows Has Been Shutdown scam.
